It's here! Red and pink hearts...paper lace doilies...Valentine exchanges...boxes of mystery chocolates. Mystery chocolates are those kinds that you have to poke with your finger to see what's inside before you eat one. If there's one thing I've learned over the years when pondering a box of mystery chocolates, and hear me now - ask me later, because this is the most important mystery chocolate rule of thumb you will ever need to know: the square chocolates are 99.9% of the time always caramel inside. I don't even bother with the dark chocolates...that's not how I roll. If they're round and smooth on top, you might have a chocolate covered cherry on your hands. I will consume almost any kind of milk chocolate. It's who I am. It's what I do.

Sewing is also what I do and love and here is a picture of some fabric Valentines that I recently made from vintage material that was handed down to me by a quilting group. It was found in a fabric stash of a dear lady who had passed away, but in her lifetime made several quilts and soft animals for sick children. The quilting group couldn't use the fabric because some of it was cut into many odd sizes for various quilts. The fabric has a good essence to it and I will never get rid of it, even if I can't use it.

Anyway...Happy Valentine's Day! Share the love!

I read somewhere recently that Cupid only has one arrow per each lover's heart. Hmmm...makes you think, doesn't it? Talk about job stress.

This little cupid angel has his arrow ready to go. My two favorite things about him are his handstitched paper crown and his tag wings that are stained and attached with an old pin. He looks like he's been around for quite some time...I hope his aim is still good!

Cupid and his arrow are listed in my Etsy shop. Click on Cupid to go there!

Just in time for Valentine's Day!
The grungy heart at the right is also listed in my Etsy shop which you can visit by clicking on the Etsy link at the top of the left hand column of my blog.

The primitive heart has a pocket for a Valentine. This one reads "forever yours" and looks like it has been tucked away for years (decades!).

What is it about a Valentine that makes them so exciting to receive?
Love is powerful ~ share the love!

There's a full moon tonight - or should I say "this morning" - as it is past midnight.
I'm sitting here staring at the snowmen that did not sell at last November's craft show and have taken refuge on the shelves behind my sewing table. We're getting a good February thaw right now and you can just taste spring. It kind of makes me sad, though, the time to say goodbye to the snowmen is almost here. Here's to that "old tophat" magic.
