Primitive Images is a little cabin in Good Hart Michigan that was deconstructed and moved to it's current site where it was reconstructed and turned into a rustic furniture store with a tea room in the back. My friends and I stopped to enjoy a warm cup of spiced chai and had a great afternoon.
Unfortunately, this little house down the road will not be as lucky at a 2nd chance. My sister and I took pictures in front of it just a few years ago and it didn't seem to be in this bad of shape. My heart sank when I seen the condition it was in. I am thankful for folks who cherish and preserve history. There is much to learn about the past and about ourselves in the process.

For anyone who like creepy legends around a campfire! This one has been around for many moons. I know how the woods of northern Michigan come alive at night with things we never see during the day. Could it be true? I don't want to know! Heee-hee-heee....
Muslin corn husks drying on the corn stove after their coffee/vanilla bath. This time of year and through the winter months you will most likely find me parked right where the muslin is! Once that fire heat penetrates your old (...well, "my" old...) muscles & bones it is hard to walk away from it and not be cold.
I though I would be all done with fall crafts and then I became the proud owner of this wonderful pumpkin doll pattern recently! "Minerva" is a pattern by Bless Your Heart Country Crafts. I have the pieces cut out and hope to work on this cutie. Speaking of cute, the black kitty on a stick was another win last year from Wendy at Ravenwood Whimzies!

Years ago in a tiny, archaic house by the railroad tracks lived an ancient lady the children called "Gypsy Luella". She lived there by herself and some folks were afraid of her because she was different. But not the children. Every fall she would make candies in unique shapes and colors and flavors and hand them out to the children as they walked to school along the railroad grade. The old house and the gypsy lady are gone now. An overgrown path marks where the railroad tracks were pulled up long ago. Once in a while, a middle-aged man or woman will drive by the spot, passing through their hometown on vacation. The taste of licorice and orange spice, the feel of cool, crisp autumn mornings and the faint sound of children's laughter flood their memories. Memories of a simple and magical time.
Sad to see some of the pretty leaves falling and the trees getting twiggy, but there is always something to look forward to! I love Halloween. As my daughter gets older, we will have to find different ways to have fun with it. Next year we are planning a "haunted woods" on the trails in back of our house. So much fun!
But what to look forward to after fall?

my snowfolk nodder
I love sitting up at night going through patterns and fabric stashes. My least favorite part is sitting at the sewing machine and sewing, but I don't mind it that much. The best part is adding the finishing touches...the bells and tags and scarves...and light bulb noses (you would be surprised how many people ask me if the noses actually light up. I am a crafter, not an electrician) LOL!
Here's to a great week of enjoying fall and looking forward to what's next.
This very well could be the mother-lode of all winter giveaways!
Brenda at The Rusty Thimble has gathered TWENTY-THREE (23) giveaway prizes from primitive and country crafters in blogland.
Each prize will go to a different entry - that means there will be 23 winners!
Once all the winners have been selected, all names will go BACK into the hat for a drawing for a $20 gift certificate, donated by Brenda, to one of the prize donor's etsy shops! That could mean 24 winners!
