Carved this year's pumpkin on Halloween night.  Thanks, Pumpkin, for your seeds.  They are good roasted with butter & seasoning.  Happy Halloween.

PRIMITIVE IMAGES

Primitive Images is a little cabin in Good Hart Michigan that was deconstructed and moved to it's current site where it was reconstructed and turned into a rustic furniture store with a tea room in the back.  My friends and I stopped to enjoy a warm cup of spiced chai and had a great afternoon.

Unfortunately, this little house down the road will not be as lucky at a 2nd chance.  My sister and I took pictures in front of it just a few years ago and it didn't seem to be in this bad of shape.  My heart sank when I seen the condition it was in.  I am thankful for folks who cherish and preserve history.  There is much to learn about the past and about ourselves in the process.

Hope all stay safe and warm this week ~*~Lisa

LEGEND OF THE MICHIGAN DOGMAN

For anyone who like creepy legends around a campfire!  This one has been around for many moons.  I know how the woods of northern Michigan come alive at night with things we never see during the day.  Could it be true?  I don't want to know!  Heee-hee-heee....

A LITTLE MORE FALL

Muslin corn husks drying on the corn stove after their coffee/vanilla bath.  This time of year and through the winter months you will most likely find me parked right where the muslin is!  Once that fire heat penetrates your old (...well, "my" old...) muscles & bones it is hard to walk away from it and not be cold.

This Horn of Plenty was won last year from Angela at Thru Nana's Window.
I love it!

I though I would be all done with fall crafts and then I became the proud owner of this wonderful pumpkin doll pattern recently!  "Minerva" is a pattern by Bless Your Heart Country Crafts.  I have the pieces cut out and hope to work on this cutie.  Speaking of cute, the black kitty on a stick was another win last year from Wendy at Ravenwood Whimzies!

Here is a close up of Minerva by Bless Your Heart Country Crafts.  You can find her and other cute patterns in the Bless Your Heart CC etsy shop.

Don't forget to click the Winter Wonderland button on the top of my right sidebar to enter an awesome giveaway with 24 chances to win!  You have to sign up at The Rusty Thimble.  The button will take you there!  Thanks to Brenda at TRT for hosting this awesome giveaway!

Gypsy Luella's Candy Stix

Years ago in a tiny, archaic house by the railroad tracks lived an ancient lady the children called "Gypsy Luella".  She lived there by herself and some folks were afraid of her because she was different.  But not the children. Every fall she would make candies in unique shapes and colors and flavors and hand them out to the children as they walked to school along the railroad grade.

The old house and the gypsy lady are gone now.  An overgrown path marks where the railroad tracks were pulled up long ago.  Once in a while, a middle-aged man or woman will drive by the spot, passing through their hometown on vacation. The taste of licorice and orange spice, the feel of cool, crisp autumn mornings and the faint sound of children's laughter flood their memories. Memories of a simple and magical time.

CREEPY..MERRIMENT

Sad to see some of the pretty leaves falling and the trees getting twiggy, but there is always something to look forward to!  I love Halloween.  As my daughter gets older, we will have to find different ways to have fun with it.  Next year we are planning a "haunted woods" on the trails in back of our house.  So much fun!

But what to look forward to after fall?

Gingerbread men, candy canes, snowmen and santas!
Many have started creating for the snowy season already, and there are some great winter celebrations and giveaways going on right now - BE SURE TO CHECK OUT THE WINTER WONDERLAND GIVEAWAY BY CLICKING THE BUTTON AT THE TOP OF MY RIGHT SIDEBAR!

So much I want to do, stain tags, rust pins & bells, cut out patterns, stock up on cinnamon and vanilla, clean my craft area....

my snowfolk nodder

I love sitting up at night going through patterns and fabric stashes.  My least favorite part is  sitting at the sewing machine and sewing, but I don't mind it that much.  The best part is adding the finishing touches...the bells and tags and scarves...and light bulb noses (you would be surprised how many people ask me if the noses actually light up.  I am a crafter, not an electrician) LOL!

Here's to a great week of enjoying fall and looking forward to what's next.

JUST A LITTLE FALL

Just a few pics of some of my decorations.  My buddy Patti at Jager Hollow Primitives made these candy corn and sent them in a swap last year.  Love them so much!  She is the Queen of Candy Corn.

More fall goodness from Patti! Been trying to get some of these done myself, but it's taking me forever for some reason.  I better hurry up, the santa's & snowfolk are calling!

No. 13 and his pumpkin are a simple duo in my etsy shop.  Just love black & orange!

Two of my favorite pumpkins I made quite a few years ago.
