Deb over at Barefoot Primitives recently hosted an awesome multi-winner giveaway and I was one of the lucky winners!  I received this wonderful stash of fabrics and tags. I did squeal when I opened the package.  Thanks so much Deb, there is enough fabric here to keep me in projects for a long time!  Be sure to visit Deb and Barefoot Primitives:

Robin Update

Happy to report Robin made it through the storm!
This is a picture of her this afternoon in the exact same spot she was in my previous post about her.    Actually, due to the colorful red breast, it is probably a "he" per some helpful blog buddies. I'd like to thank everyone to took the time to comment and share their ponderings, prayers, links and knowledge.  My husband went out (on his own) and shoveled this patch for her/him in his/her spot and left an apple.  I see now the sticker is still on it which I need to go remove so no one gags.  Robin looks a little less puffy in this pic, that and the fact he survived the storm must be good signs.

Sat down and made a few more fake fabric flowers - still having fun with it and will probably make more.  They don't take up much room so that's a good thing.

If you are looking for a good movie to watch, we caught "Moneyball" with Brad Pitt this weekend. It's a true story about the General Manager of a baseball team using statistics to choose players instead of age/looks/popularity, etc.  Only a few swear words and no raunchy parts.  Good acting/storyline and something the whole family can watch.  And yes.  Brad Pitt is nice to look at.

Hope this week is good to you in whatever you have planned or comes your way ♥

Faking It

Since it is still snowing I figured I'd try playing with some fake flowers!

Gathered up some supplies and this is what I ended up with

I like it!  Ended up with the print on the wrong side, but decided this was a happy mistake as it looks more shabby chic this way, which I love.  Here's another view:

Hear me now, ask me later, this is FUN!
And oh the possibilities...so many different techniques and styles and uses.  I have to admit the main reason I am liking this project is the gratification is almost instant.

While I was making the flowers, Mamma Squirrel came up and perched on her hind legs to see if we had any bread to share.  She got a fresh end piece (she likes the crust best).  While I was sitting at the table looking out back at her in the tree enjoying her bread, it looked like she was staring right back at me.

Off to make more flowers. Next I will have to figure out which type of clips are best to use for the backs.  I'm sure that will require a road trip to Joann's or Hobby Lobby (oh darn, LOL).

Thanks for stopping by! Have a great day ~*~Lisa

POOR LITTLE ROBIN

Right now my heart is breaking for this little creature.  She (I will call her a she, LOL) showed up last week and just sits by our back deck all puffed up in a little ball every day.  She can fly just fine.  I've see some other robins that have come back north (too early!) but they are active and are paired up and doing their hoppy little courting dances.  This puffball is a loner.  I don't know if she is very young or very old?  She is trying her best to dig for bugs or worms in the frozen ground.  I've thrown bread, berries (okay...even some shrimp in desperation) outside for her.  The worst part is they are calling for between 5-11 inches of snow by Sat morning for our area (I'm feeling like a broken record with the whole snow thing, sorry about that).  I don't think she's had time to make a nest.  Since she likes to hang out by our deck I am hoping she will take shelter underneath it?  I am sure God has numbered every feather on this little creature and it will all work out.  I am probably more worried than she is.  There's my sign.

"smile and say worm"

Thanks for stopping by blog buddies - may your weekend be free from worry or anxiety and full of peace and hope ~♥~Lisa

MORE SUMMER DREAMIN'

I don't usually get into the Fourth of July decorations, but the past few years I've been appreciating the holiday more and more.  Have a couple little dolls in the works with Americana fabric dresses...this one is not finished and I don't know how to finish her, but will probably leave her simple.

I will definitely be working on summer creations this weekend as they are calling for 11 inches of snow by 11:00 a.m. Saturday for the Tip of the Mitt.  Some flood warnings for other Michigan folks-I would rather have the snow, I hope all stay safe and sound out there if you have to be out and about.  Bless your day♥

EYE CANDY

(please ignore the dirty kitchen window, LOL.
Ever try to wash a window outside in the cold? It's not pretty.)

Like a crow to shiny objects, I am drawn to colored glass.
Especially when it sits in a window with the sun shining through. This vase is my favorite color, and I love the shape.  Have been trying my best not to buy or thrift things I don't need.  But this vase tugged at my heartstrings - and it was super cheap.  Just a simple joy I wanted to share.
Hope you find simple joy today♥

OH YES I DID

Thanks to Lassie, my stuffing stash is now replenished and I have a great piece of star fabric to start some Americana creations.

This is what we drove in on the interstate for almost an hour to get to Hobby Lobby.  Would have preferred a sunny day, but pretty none the less.  The interstate up north is mostly woods, which I love so I don't mind the drive.

The town we visited freezes their fountain on Main Street every year.  Still pretty frozen as of yesterday.

Hope you all have a great week whether you are healing, visiting, planting, stitchin', paintin' or thriftin'!

WHAT IS IT GIRL?

WOOF!

"What is it girl? Johnny fell in the well again?"

WOOF-WOOF-WOOF!

"Oh! I'm sorry...you said my stuffing in my storage barrel is getting low and I need to hop on my horse and ride to the next town to get a new box of Morning Glory at Hobby Lobby?"

WOOF!

"Okay. I thought you may have meant that.
GEEE.....
Thanks Girl!"

Have a great weekend blog buddies! ~*~Lisa

I MAKE DOLLS

I actually finished something! LOL
The "We Make Dolls" book in my last post inspired me to finish up a little stuffie doll. I just used some scrap fabric I've had for a while.  Now she needs some friends: a shabby chic cousin in floral pastels...a goth girlie in black with long black braids...what kind of dolly would you make?

It's late.  I wish I could stay up all night with coffee making things!  Have to get up early for work in the morning - the dollies will have to wait.

WE MAKE DOLLS

What did you buy with your Joann's coupons this weekend?

I had a bolt of osnaburg in my arms, but this book was calling my name.  "We Make Dolls" by Jenny Doh spotlights softie dollmakers and shares some of their patterns.

Can't you just envision the adventures these characters are ready to embark on?

I have a couple of different softie patterns I drew up that I would like to make.  They are a nice outlet for the bright graphic fabrics that are so cool but not typically used in primitives.

Yet ANOTHER project sitting in a basket waiting for me!
