SKEETERS

Been trying to plant.  Beautiful weather, but real dry.
Only one problem...HUGE POST-NUCLEAR SIZE SKEETERS!

The pink lady slippers are plentiful again this year.  I love them.

Almost got carried away taking these pics! Are the mosquitoes bad in your neck of the woods?  They are finding their way into the house as the nights are in the '40's and they must be getting cold...poor little things...NOT.  The are vicious little vampires and they all need to die.

Ugg mosquitos. Hate them lil buggers! (but don't we all). They LOVE my husband, poor guy. Skeeters are the reason we started sleeping with a fan on many years ago. The wind would keep them from buzzing too close while we tried to sleep. Which then caused me to want the fan on at night all year long because I got used to it and have a hard time sleeping with it off!

LOL Lisa, I am so with you! There is nothing more annoying than the whine of a mosquito at night when you are trying to sleep ... and you can never find the darn thing to kill it when you leap out of bed and turn on all the lights! The skeeters are bad here too, we are slathered in bug spray all day, every day to try and keep them at bay. And we had post-apocalyptic size hornets sunning themselves on the windows today, they were huge! They all flew off down towards the creek once they warmed up, so I'll have to watch for a gigantic hornets nest down there somewhere. Oh joy! On a brighter note, your lady slippers are very pretty! Keep lots of bug spray on hand and try not to scratch! Deb

It looks lovely and warm in your neck of the woods now, love the pink lady slippers. Can't offer you any advice on the mosquitoes. Some years they aren't too bad here and others they are in plague proportions. Lots of insect repellent and make sure there are no containers with water lying around where they can breed. (And don't scratch the bites!!!!)

Those evil bugs are so bad here that we could not go out even in the daytime in our yard. Finally decided to spray. Will last for a month, but we have seen a big difference. Janice
